Indiana Skydiving Academy, LLC is committed to excellence in student training. There are three ways to make your first skydive with us: a solo jump alone or with two instructors or a tandem jump.
When you choose to make your first solo jump with us, you will have the opportunity to learn all about your jump and your equipment during our in-depth class, taught by one of our experienced instructors who are all certified by the United States Parachute Association. Click here to meet our instructors or click here to visit the UPSA's Official website.
After both classroom and hands on training, you will be ready for your jump. You will be jumping with a state-of-the-art parachute system. Each system has two parachutes: a main and a reserve. Both are rectangular, designed to make landings as soft as possible. It will also have an on board computer which constantly monitors your altitude and speed. It is designed to open your reserve parachute in the event of a problem. You can also opt for a video of your experience for an additional fee. See below for details.
Your friends and family are also welcome to come watch your first jump. So they don't have to wait during your class, tell them to meet you around 1:00 (or when you call) at the dropzone, which is located on the north side of the airport, off of CR 40 west of US 33. When it's time for your jump, we'll take them right to the landing area so they get a close up view of your accomplishment.
This is our suggested method of making your first jump. If you select this method, your day will begin with four to five hours of training both in the classroom and hands on. After you complete the training course, you will be ready to make your first solo jump, weather permitting. After helping you don your equipment, your instructor will accompany you in the plane. Next your static line will be attached and you will be ready to jump. The static line will cause your parachute to deploy automatically almost immediately upon leaving the aircraft. Then, you'll get to enjoy the countryside from a new perspective for about five minutes as you steer your parachute, under instruction through ground-to-air radio, gently back to earth. This method is also the most economical way to learn to skydive. If you enjoy your first jump and want to continue, your next jump is only $50!

Method #2 - Accelerated Freefall
If you choose our accelerated freefall program, you'll be accompanied by two instructors to 12,000 feet. They will be holding on to you throughout the entire skydive and giving you in-air instruction for about 45 seconds at 120 mph. They will ensure that you deploy your main parachute for yourself and in the event that you do not, they will do it for you.
When your parachute opens, you will have another instructor talking to you via ground-to-air radio. You'll get to enjoy the countryside from a new perspective for about five minutes as you steer your parachute gently back to earth.

Method #3 - Tandem Skydive -
If you've always wanted to skydive, but are not ready to step out on your own, we also offer a tandem skydive experience. After about fifteen minutes of training, you and your instructor will board the airplane and fly to 10,000 feet. You will wear a specially designed harness and be attached to your certified tandem instructor. The two of you will leave the plane and freefall together at 120 mph for about 45 seconds, until the parachute opens. You will then enjoy a 7-minute canopy ride as you and your instructor descend under one parachute.

DVD or VHS Option - As you can see, we also offer a video option for your first, or any, jump. This video captures all of the action, from gearing up, to your time in the plane, to your actual jump out of the plane all set to music. You can choose from our selection of music or feel free to bring your own. If you do bring your own music, you must include all your song choices on ONE CD for editing purposes. We highly recommend selecting the video option because it will act as proof to your family and friends of your daring feat. And, as you become a part of the skydiving world, you'll soon learn that if it wasn't on video then it didn't happen.
To make your first jump, please call 574-642-3156. If there's no answer, leave us a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. You can also send an e-mail to: dzo@indianaskydivingacademy.com to make a reservation. Please include your name, and the date you would like to jump (Saturdays and Sundays - April through October). Reservations are necessary because we try to keep our class sizes small so that you receive plenty of personalized instruction. If you cannot make your scheduled class date, please let us know by Monday of your scheduled week. For directions to our DZ, click here.
FOR STATIC LINE/AFF STUDENTS:
Classes begin in the main terminal building (by the flags) of Goshen Municipal Airport, located on County Road 42, between U.S. 33 and State Road 15, just south of downtown Goshen. Click here for directions. We ask that you arrive by 9:00a.m. for your class. The class lasts until approximately 1:00p.m., at which time students from the class will begin jumping, weather permitting. You will be given time to make a quick lunch run between instruction and jumping. If the weather is inclement on your scheduled day, please keep your reservation and attend the class. You will then be able to make your jump later that day or any other weekend day (from 9:00a.m. until sunset).
FOR TANDEM STUDENTS:
We schedule classes at various times throughout the day. When you call for a reservation, we will work with you to set up a time. The classes are held at our hanger, which is located adjacent to the gravel parking lot at the far east end of the airport. Your class will last approximately 1/2 hour and then you'll be ready to make your jump.
Continuing your Adventure - After your first jump, we have an entire training program that will teach you everything that you need to know to earn your skydiving license. We will discuss your options with you after you have successfully made your first skydive.
